Afternoon Session Tasks

After these simple activities, we moved onto more complicated and process required tasks in the afternoon session. Instead of being timed to doing each task, we were given a total amount of time to complete a certain amount of tasks. This part of the day we explored the different approaches to sculpture. Very similar to the contextual references we went through during the call, these tasks wanted us to make sculptures based on objects around the house.

Make an object invisible – instead of making using materials, I decided to make a scene that hides the object within the give area
Make yourself invisible – this was actually quite difficult because I tried to make myself as “flat” as possible behind the curtain, trying to hide myself behind the folds
Wear as many pieces of clothing as possible – was very hot
Use material to define an invisible space
Take a piece of furniture outside and take a picture
Make a sculpture with as many things as you can – with this task I wanted to challenge myself by making a piece without any supporting materials like tape or glue, I balanced books and boxes together to make a “tower”
